Your right. I believe thats why MS waited with the whole HD dvd thing. And its common sense they can't produce this next gen format at the same rate as DVD players. So even if they only manufacture 200 to 500k hd dvd add ons...It will be enough for the gamers that want HD dvd playback. But it doesn't limit the amount of 360's they can put out there. Blu ray should have been used in consoles in like 4 to 5 years. Same with HD DVD. When they perfect the format and work out the bugs...and...
My main gamer tag on live is KobebryantLaker. I have every game except Bomberman so what every you get into....I'm there. And its not that I wanted sony fans to believe me. I'm not some genius. Yes I truly believe the 360's sales will increase when Gears of War ships. I think there will be a major spike all the way through Christmas and beyond. What you have to understand is there are 24 million xbox owners waiting to get their hands on the new MS console. As of now...what every MS ships sells. Go to your local EB. Ask them. What ever sony ships will sell. No doubt. I think there are a good 6 million sony fans that will purchase the ps3 just off of the name regardless of the price. Its a bundle with the add on in the bundle...as far as I know its not built in, though MS is exploring their options in the future.
There will be Premium 360 bundles with the HD DVD player in the bundle. So sure the first 8 million if they want HD dvd will have to buy the add on. But the next 20 plus million can buy the bundle if HD Dvd is what they want with their console. Costco will be getting the bundle for sure. Thanks Microsoft.
